HOMEGROWN MUSIC continued...
  • ...his first appearance on Homegrown Music with some outstanding original music highlighting his remarkable skills on guitar.  With a guitar style that hints at Michael Hedges and Adrian Legg, but exclusively on 12-string guitar work is impressive.  And he's also a fine songwriter and with a pleasing vocal style."

NYIMF - JAMES LONCARIC continued...

  • ..."I have listened to and heard a great deal of music in my life, and it is rare to come across a band or musician that completely floors you.  This is what my experience was like when I mixed FOH for Wayne Scott Farley at the New York International Music Festival.  After working with some 200+ artists I was not expecting this, and with 100 or more to go, I was truly grateful.

I was introduced to Wayne as the next performer on the roster, and proceeded to get him set up on stage.  It was the usual interaction, save for the quiet demeanor and sense of peacefulness that surrounds this gentleman.  He then began to play.  I was immediately struck by the cascade of precisely executed notes filling the room.

This was not just some technically savvy guitarist ripping lines, but a virtuoso delicately creating a tapestry of intricately woven sounds.  Mr. Farley brings to mind players such as John McLaughlin, Al Di Meola, Paco De Lucia, and Steve Morse.  His vocal style is reminiscent of Michael Hedges.  Should you have the opportunity to see him you will be struck by the sense of quiet power flowing from the stage as this wall of sound pours through your being.

Wayne Scott Farley is a truly rare and unique artist that should not be missed.  He is sure to make his mark on this industry and on many more music lovers."

THE PHIL STAHL SHOW  continued

by Mike Wuerstle, Sound Engineer

  • "Wayne has four arms and plays a double neck guitar..he's turned adversity into innovation... an inspiration to us all...or at least you would think he has 4 arms when you listen to the seamless way he plays lead over his rhythm parts using a loop box".

by Travis McDemus, Ass't Sound Engineer

  • "Watching Wayne Scott Farley is like watchng a lava lamp."

CROSS RHYTHMS continued

"Wayne's previous album recorded as Force For Good was a brooding atmosphere of rock which earned him a 10 square review.  This time round, the songs are generally of lighter shade and the album is still rock but with a poppier sound.  Wayne is simply a brilliant musician and this has tons of wonderful music that flourishes.  His varied songwriting covers all bases from the kiddie chorus and cheerfulness of "Good Morning Lord" or the early '60's pop pastiche of "Nothing Changes You Like Love" and the wonderful arrangement of "Psalm 84" with its intertwining electric and acoustic guitars.  "Monterey" is a crazy country stomp featuring some of the hottest cotton pickin' guitar!  There's a lot of variety here!   If you like the versatility of Phil Keaggy, perhaps it's time you checked out WSF, the man is a genius and this album is almost perfect!"

TONY CUMMINGS continued

"Of all the staggering musical performances that Cross Rhythms has been privileged to host down the years few can match, both for superlative quality and for its sheer unexpectedness, 1995's dazzling guitarist Wayne Scott Farley.  One story demonstrates its impact.  A guitarist with a Christian  band, no mean musician Himself, was heard to remark after the gig, 'I feel like giving up... this man is playing stuff I didn't think was possible to play on a guitar'".  On sheer ability Wayne is up there with the Dan Huffs and the Phil Keaggys".

ROCK REVIEW continued
"As regular readers of Cross Rhythms will know, Force For Good is the band fronted by Wayne Scott Farley, the maestro guitarist (and this man's talents really are awesome).  When Mike Rimmer reviewed 'When The Mists Have Rolled Away" as an import back in CR27 it earned the 10 square acolade and a fresh listen shows  Mr. Rimmer's ears were not deceiving him.  Instantly accessible this isn't, it is dense and eclectic ambient rock seemingly taking on influences as diverse as Pink Floyd and Celtic folk music which "Fields Of Faith" is a haunting classic.  Thanks to Spirit Music for putting this in the shops.  Now demand your local bookshop stock it!"
